Ice cream is a category driven mainly by impulse purchases and habits. Kaufland was neither the first nor the second choice for consumers when it came to buying ice cream. It was time to change that.
All year round, we live in the “should” mode. We eat healthy, count calories and follow the rules. Summer is the only time when we’re allowed to let go and enjoy more pleasures and ice cream.
And Kaufland is the place where – thanks to its wide range of private label products – everyone can find their favourite flavours.
The hero of the campaign is a Yeti who’s had enough of licking tasteless ice in the mountains.
He sets off in search for real ice cream and ends up at Kaufland. The distinctive character, humour, a strong tag line and an unexpected twist helped us emotionally link our brand with the ice cream category.
